12/17/2023 0 Comments Starcraft ii wings of liberty patch![]() Similarly to Fungal Growth, the effectiveness of the Infested Terran ability was slightly diminished by recent Patch 1.5.3 Balance Update which decreased the Infested Swarm Eggs Health to 70 down from 100. ![]() Infested Terrans, along with Fungal Growth, can be used to shut down Stargate Pressure as well as Warp Prism harass, by locking the Warp Prism or air units in place and then tossing out a few Infested Terrans to destroy the stranded vessel. Infested Terrans can also be effectively used as meat shields to keep Chargelots away from your squishier units, or to delay and distract the enemy and allow your main army to retreat from engagements. Infested Terrans can be used to snipe buildings or harass an enemy's economy with the use of burrow or Overlord drops. Infested Terran can be used in quite a few different scenarios, as it is essentially a 'free', on-demand, high Damage Per Second (DPS), zero-food-cost unit. In consequence, Colossi based pre- Hive pushes and the Immortal- Sentry all-ins have become harder to counter with heavy Infestors compositions. This makes it harder to safely hit key fungals in presence of Colossi, Sentries using their Force Field ability ( range:9) or High Templars. However, with the Patch 1.5.3 Balance Update, Fungal Growth saw its range decreased from 9 to 8. The fact that it also hits air units helps in dealing with Stargate openers and Phoenix harass. Fungal Growth can also be used to reveal cloaked units such as Observers and Dark Templar, and allow for a defense against harassment even without Overseers or Spore Crawlers. In mid-game Fungal Growth can be used in a myriad of ways, including denying reinforcements from joining the battle, stopping fleeing units from retreating, or stopping Stalkers from being able to blink away. Early on, It can be used to reduce the effectiveness of Zealots by freezing them in place and thus not allowing them to connect with fragile units, as well as by stopping Stalkers and Sentries from being able to kite. Neural Parasite can be used to counter this by taking control of the Mothership and either wasting the energy or using Vortex on the Protoss units.įungal Growth is a useful spell in ZvP in just about every situation. As both players max out their armies the Protoss player will often counter a Zerg going Brood Lords by building a Mothership to try and Vortex the Zerg's army and then strategically moving Archons inside so that when the Vortex expires, the Archons can maximize their AOE damage. Neural Parasite is mainly used late game in ZvP to counter the Mothership, and specifically the Mothership's Vortex spell. This article may be outdated due to metagame or patch changes. Coupled with an Overlord, an Infestor can spawn Infested Terrans across different levels of terrain for harassment. For example, spawning Infested Terrans on top of Siege Tanks is an excellent way to gain ground while causing the tanks to inflict friendly fire. Infested Terrans are highly disposable units (they cost nothing to create and automatically expire after thirty seconds) and, as such, can be spawned as the front line to tank damage while the main army is behind, semi-protected by the Infested Terrans. Infestors can also be paired with ground-attacking only units (such as the Ultralisk/ Zergling) and spawn the Infested Terrans to deal with air units. Since Infestors can use this spell while Burrowed, they can sneak behind enemy minerals lines and cast this spell to severely disrupt the enemy's economy (optionally paired with a Fungal Growth to keep the workers from being able to flee) or to destroy key buildings without sacrificing portions of their main army. Infested Terran is a versatile spell that is excellent for harassment. An Infestor, throwing an Infested Swarm Egg from underground
